the key to prevention of bed sores is frequent pressure relief. She should have a good skin relieving cushion in her wheelchair and potentially a quality mattress with skin relieving features. Her PT and dme people can recommend specifics. In bed, she should be repositioned every 2 hours.

My sister is 16. She was paralyzed in an accident, she's very thin, she can't use her hands or roll over, and she has to be diapered mainly because she can't control herself. She's still in the hospital but will be coming home soon. What are some good physical therapy exercises or massages to do on her that can reduce the risk of bedsores? She's quadriplegic, I want to help do physical therapy on her daily when she gets home.

Prompt follow up with physiotherapy is crucial to success after a knee replacement. If you don't get the proper therapy in time it can lead to permanent reduction in joint mobility and range of motion. Sounds like you are already having reduced abiliies and need to get started as soon as possble. It is worth the discomfort.

After the surgery, due to pain physio therapy was not correctly followed leading to slightly bend of the knee say 15 degrees, after 5 weeks does the condition improves with physio therapy ? If not then what is the best alternate remedy ?

To start with you'd need to take meds & be stabilised for a long time before thinking of therapy. As you know bipolar is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, NOT a psychological disorder, so therapy in the beginning isn't necessary, or, desirable. Psychotherapy later on may be helpful in controlling & managing moods. CBT or DBT are not really as helpful, unless you also have borderline personality, which is psychological in origin. Bipolar needs meds first, then, when stable, consider therapy. But instead of asking us, ask your psychiatrist, they'll know if & when the time's right, & what therapy, if any, is most suited to you.

I've been in therapy for years. I've been inpatient as well. At times, therapy doesn't feel like it's enough, but as for the type of therapy it is, extra sessions are not allowed. There are days were I consider suicide and others where I am willful and hurt myself. But neither are severe for days, just like a constant melancholy, I have recently called my doctor to get my medication adjusted, however, I am curious on your thoughts and if you have been in a similar situation, what you have done.
